1. Enhance the student's knowledge and awareness regarding the different roles he/she will
play in his future professional practice.
2. Enhance the student's knowledge and awareness regarding the duties and rights of
different parties of project life cycle: Client, Contractor, and Architect.
3. Train student to use "building law bylaw", "building safety code", and "Egyptian
Engineers Syndicate" bylaws for fee estimation.

The course explains the roles and the relationship between the different participants in the
construction process; the Architect, the contractor and the owner. It is a study of the
professional practice, codes and legislations in terms of rights, commitments, ethics and
scope of services. Types of contracts, fees and bidding are important issues of this course.
Also, case studies of real sites are examined, discussed and analyzed in classes.
