Amal Mehanna is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Future University. She served as Head of the Computer Science Department until 2025 and has been serving actively as Chair of the competitions Committee to date, during which students at Future university achieved top rankings in various international competitions, including Croatia
(2023), Hanover, Germany (2024) and China (2024). She received her BEng. Degree, first class with Honours, in Communication Engineering from Leicester, UK, 2001, she was one of the top three students in her faculty. In 2000 she was the representative of the Electronics and Communications Engineering student body. She was a member of the European project (3D-VIVANT) 2010-2013 (Brunel University, UK) and liaise with research staff from other EU countries. In 2013, she received her PhD. Degree in Holoscopic 3D technologies, Brunel University, west London, UK. Dr. Mehanna’s research interests include Digital signal processing, advanced 3D Imaging Systems: Holoscopic and Multiview 3D Image processing Video coding, medical images compression, electromagnetic waves, Mobile communication, Internet of Things (IOT), Embedded systems, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
