Load characteristics: daily load curve, load duration curve, maximum and average loads, load, capacity, utilization, and diversity factors. Economics of power generation: fixed cost, depreciation, running cost. Tariffs and power factor improvement. Per-Unit system. Fault analysis: System modeling under fault conditions, Symmetrical faults. Circuit breakers and switchgear.
