Introduction to Mechanical Engineering Design, Failures resulting from static loading and from dynamic loading. Design of Mechanical Elements: Shafts, Shaft components, screws, fasteners, the design of nonpermanent joints, Welding, Bonding, the design of permanents joints and Mechanical Springs. Bearings (Rolling-contact bearing, journal Bearing). Application of CAD and Solid Works is illustrated and encouraged. Group design project
