FUE hosts SPE’s Distinguished Lecturer Program

FUE was happy to host SPE’s (Society of Petroleum Engineers) Distinguished Lecturer Program at 18th Nov 2014. The event consisted of three main segments. Firstly, three distinguished SPE Board Members were honored for their great efforts and contributions to SPE, on top of which was Prof. Ismail Mahgoub, as he received an honorary award for his many years of devotion to SPE. Secondly, Dyan Gibbens, a PhD candidate in Industrial Engineering and Management, gave an outstanding lecture titled: How to Save Time, Money, and Reduce Personnel Exposure Using Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Dyan kindly answered multiple questions at the end of her talk after she had introduced the audience to the new frontier in the petroleum industry. Thirdly, snacks and beverages were served during an open social/professional discussion. To summarise, a great deal of insight was shared throughout the discussions and the event was very fruitful and beneficial.
