Cairo – November 27, 2025 Future University in Egypt is honored to organize an international workshop titled “Child’s City”, held under the patronage of Prof. Ebada Sarhan, President of the University; Prof. Abdel Wahab El Ghandour, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs; and Prof. Mohamed Abdel Motaal, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The workshop is organized by the Department of Architecture, under the supervision of Prof. Noha Gamal Said, the Egyptian principal investigator of the project and Professor of Architecture at Future University in Egypt. This workshop is part of an international research project funded by LHMENA, with the participation of a multidisciplinary team of professors, researchers, and students from France, Switzerland, Tunisia, Morocco, and Researchers and students from Ain Shams University and Future University in Egypt also participate.   Workshop Objectives The “Child’s City” workshop aims to explore urban spaces and develop strategies to make cities more child friendly. The workshop includes: Public lectures delivered by international and local experts Practical workshops on child-friendly urban and architectural design Research discussions and academic sessions An exhibition showcasing the outcomes of the international research project The workshop provides students and researchers with a unique opportunity to engage with the latest approaches in innovative urban planning, child-centered city design, and international research collaboration in the field of architecture.   International Participation This initiative reflects Future University’s commitment to strengthening international research, promoting safer and more inclusive urban environments for children, and expanding academic cooperation with global architectural institutions.   Event Details Date: Thursday, November 27 – Monday, December 1, 2025 Venue: Future University Theater and the Faculty of Engineering Building at Future University in Egypt Participants: Over ten international professors and researchers, students from the National School of Architecture and Urbanism in Tunis, as well as faculty members, teaching assistants, and students from Future University and the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University   Through this workshop, Future University in Egypt reaffirms its dedication to research excellence, innovation in architectural education, and the development of inclusive, child-friendly cities that address the needs of future generations.

As part of its ongoing commitment to academic enrichment and knowledge exchange, Future University in Egypt (FUE) hosted a distinguished architectural lecture at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, delivered by Prof. Dr. Tamer El-Gabaly, Architectural Consultant and Designer. The lecture was held under the title “An Architect’s Ever-Evolving Journey: A Generative Methodology for a Redefined Architectural Vision”, and was attended by university leadership, faculty members, teaching assistants, students, staff, and individuals interested in architecture and design. During the lecture, Prof. El-Gabaly shared inspirational highlights from key milestones in his professional journey, shedding light on the achievements and turning points that shaped his successful career. The talk also addressed how architects can continuously evolve their design approaches in response to the rapidly changing architectural landscape. In addition, Prof. El-Gabaly introduced the concept of generative design and discussed its impact on redefining architectural vision through innovative methodologies and tools, supported by real-life professional examples. Prof. Dr. Tamer El-Gabaly is one of Egypt’s most distinguished architects. He studied Architecture at Ain Shams University, earned his master’s degree focusing on commercial atrium spaces between traditional and contemporary design, and later obtained his PhD in designing regional shopping centers and mixed-use developments. He founded El Gabaly Architects in 1994 and later established GEBAL Consultants in 2016 as a full-service architecture and engineering consultancy firm. This lecture reflects the Faculty of Engineering & Technology’s dedication at Future University in Egypt to bridging academic learning with professional practice, while inspiring students to embrace innovation and develop a forward-looking architectural vision.
