Future University in Egypt continues to offer learning opportunities that combine creativity with practical skills. This summer, the Faculty of Engineering & Technology is introducing an exciting new course titled “Interior Design for Beginners”, designed for anyone interested in exploring the world of interior design and learning how to transform everyday spaces into inspiring environments. Today, the spaces we live and work in have a significant impact on our mood, productivity, and overall well-being. Interior design is no longer limited to professionals; it has become a valuable life skill that helps individuals create comfortable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environments. This course aims to introduce participants to the fundamentals of interior design and help them develop the ability to think like designers when planning their spaces. The Interior Design for Beginners course is specially designed for beginners and enthusiasts who want to learn the basics of interior design in a clear and practical way. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will discover how design principles such as balance, harmony, rhythm, and proportion shape the atmosphere of a room. They will also learn how thoughtful decisions in color, lighting, and materials can completely transform a space. Throughout the course, participants will gain essential knowledge about color theory and lighting, two of the most powerful tools in interior design. Understanding how colors interact and how lighting affects perception can dramatically enhance the look and feel of any room. In addition, learners will explore how to plan a space effectively by arranging furniture in a way that improves both movement and functionality. Another important aspect of the course focuses on materials and finishes. Participants will learn how to choose suitable fabrics, flooring options, wall treatments, and decorative elements that reflect their personal style while staying within a realistic budget. This knowledge helps participants make informed design choices that balance creativity with practicality. The course also emphasizes hands-on learning. Participants will work on developing a complete design concept for a room of their choice, allowing them to apply what they learn throughout the program. They will create professional design tools such as mood boards, floor plans, and visual presentations to communicate their ideas clearly and confidently. The course is organized into several engaging modules. The first module introduces the language of design, covering design elements, principles, and different interior styles such as modern, classic, and minimalist. The second module focuses on space planning, furniture layout, and lighting fundamentals. The third module explores materials, textiles, and finishes while also discussing how to manage a design budget. Finally, the course concludes with a practical design workshop, where participants develop and present their own interior design project with guidance from the instructor. This program consists of 12 hours of training delivered on campus, offering participants a collaborative environment where they can exchange ideas, learn from experts, and connect with others who share a passion for design. Registration for the course will open on 10 May 2026 and will remain available until 18 June 2026. The course will officially begin on 20 June 2026 and continue until 11 July 2026, with one session per week lasting three hours. Whether you are someone who enjoys decorating your home, a creative individual looking to explore a new passion, or simply curious about the principles behind beautiful interiors, this course offers the perfect starting point. At Future University in Egypt, learning is not only about gaining knowledge but also about discovering new ways to express creativity and improve everyday life.
