About the program:
The Department of Architectural Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) program in Architectural Engineering that is based on a four-year (eight-semester) credit hour system.
The program aims to develop a creative, diverse, and rigorous approach to design from the outset. Most of the design teaching relies on a one-to-one tutorial basis with frequent review sessions. Nearly all design instructors and tutors are practicing architects or are design specialists who bring innovative design ideas to the faculty. History and theory, technology, human studies, and professional studies courses support the design work in each year and are assessed through a combination of coursework, essays, and examinations. To complete the BSc in Architectural Engineering, a student has to complete 144 credit hours during his/her study successfully.

Architectural engineering graduates are equipped to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of mathematics, science, and engineering, utilizing modern tools, techniques, and skills necessary for professional practice. They design solutions that meet specified needs while balancing public health, safety, and welfare against global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. Effective communication across diverse audiences is paired with a strong recognition of ethical and professional responsibilities, ensuring informed judgments that consider the broader societal and environmental impacts of their work. Furthermore, they function effectively within collaborative and inclusive teams to establish goals, plan tasks, meet objectives, and demonstrate vital leadership, business administration, and entrepreneurial skills. To graduate, each student must complete 150 training hours divided into two training modules (75 hours each) without credit hours.

If a student cannot get himself/herself a summer training opportunity, then the University will offer him/her one. These may cover the wide spectrum of designing in an architectural firm or a consultant's office, or supervising work on a construction site. This training actually raises the students' awareness, understanding, and comprehension of what is going on in the real professional life, whether in the field, or in a consultant's office.
