As part of its commitment to supporting the educational process and strengthening the integration between theoretical knowledge and practical application, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Future University in Egypt (FUE) organized a scientific field trip for third-level students of the Mechanical Engineering Department to the New Administrative Capital Power Plant on Sunday, 8 February 2026. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Zakaria Mostafa Marouf, Instructor of the Thermal Power Systems course.
Purpose of the Visit
The field trip aimed to enhance students’ practical skills and deepen their understanding of thermal power plant systems through direct exposure to one of the largest and most advanced power generation facilities in Egypt and the Middle East. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and major equipment supplied by Siemens, a global leader in power generation systems.
About the Power Plant
The New Administrative Capital Power Plant operates using a Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) system with an air-cooled condenser. With a total installed capacity of 4,800 MW, the plant reflects Egypt’s adoption of advanced, high-efficiency technologies that contribute to reduced fuel consumption and minimized environmental impact.
A Comprehensive Educational Experience
During the visit, students gained valuable insights into:
• The main components of combined cycle power plants
• Operational mechanisms and advanced control systems
• Protection and safety systems
• Quality standards implemented in accordance with international regulations
Such field visits play a vital role in preparing highly qualified engineers capable of meeting labor market demands and contributing effectively to national mega projects.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology extends its sincere appreciation to the management of the New Administrative Capital Power Plant for their warm welcome, generous hospitality, and fruitful cooperation, which made this valuable and enriching educational experience possible.
